Professional coaching for
successful people
With over 25 years of experience in global professional services—from legal to consulting—I’ve built a career helping people and organisations succeed. My journey began in sales and commercial management and led to senior commercial and business development roles at top firms like as HayGroup, PA Consulting, Complinet (now part of Thomson Reuters), Linklaters, Slaughter & May and Milbank.
After retraining as a professional coach with BPP, I now partner with clients to navigate the exciting opportunities and inevitable challenges of their careers. My passion is one-on-one and small group coaching, where I help people enhance their effectiveness, build resilience, and achieve their goals.
I am an EMCC Accredited Coach (pending).

I believe coaching provides high-performing individuals with the space they need to accelerate their growth and impact. It's particularly powerful when focusing on a specific goal, whether that's navigating a new role, improving performance, or developing key behaviours.
My core belief is that every client already has the inner resources — the insight, experience, and capability — to meet their challenges. I see my role as creating a focused and supportive environment, helping you move from understanding an issue to exploring your options, and finally, to committing to meaningful, energised action that will make a tangible difference. The ultimate goal is for you to gain self-awareness, recognise your strengths, and truly become the best version of yourself.
Real growth happens when you work through obstacles and discover your own solutions—answers that align with your unique style, timeline, and organisation. I don't offer the answers; instead, I provide a structured, supportive process to help you reach those insights more effectively and deliver lasting, positive change.

I am accredited by the EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) (pending) and my business is guided by the EMCC’s code of ethics.
The five core ethical principles of the EMCC are:
I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COACHED ON A WIDE VARIEY OF TOPICS (MANY OF WHICH CROP UP QUITE REGULARLY WITHIN CERTAIN DEMOGRAPHICS OF COACHEE), INCLUDING:
Following up on internal PDP / reviews and assessments to help coaches achieve the developments highlighted by managers and peers (and personal objectives).
Joining a new company and want to ensure you do everything you can to positively establish yourself and succeed there.
Followed role models at work for several years then suddenly realise you ARE the role model! Looking at the leaders, managers and peers that have influenced you over the years and how you want to present yourself to more junior members of the team.
Been in the same role too long? Feeling too “comfortable”? Trying to decide if you want to challenge yourself more (and if so what)?
Helping build your reputation, contact lists and business development skills to win work.
Coping with difficult people and difficult conversations and not letting it affect performance or motivation.
New role? New Project? New Opportunity? Be as prepared as you can be.
Managing conflicting priorities and keeping all aspects of your life in balance.
Projecting confidence and expertise.
“The coaching helped me gain clarity on how to effectively communicate my achievements and value to decision-makers. I learned the importance of aligning my goals with the wider business objectives to persuade more stakeholder support and how to strategically position myself as a thought leader.”
“The focus on identifying my strengths and preparing for difficult conversations with stakeholders was incredibly valuable. Richard’s supportive and encouraging approach made me feel confident and motivated throughout the process.”
“Personally, I think what I have learnt most from these sessions is to always take a step back to analyse before to really flesh out the issue/worry and then be able to plan approach. I really liked the clear structure in the sessions, specially where Richard would always ask "so what are you going to do about it" once our discussion of the issue had finished. I will definitely be taking this as a key learning point and look to apply it in both personal and professional situations.”
“A particular standout session was the challenge/invitation from Richard to step out and not ‘hide my light under a bushel’. This really challenged me, and I found myself consistently coming back to this statement over the past few months and also sharing with friends and family as it was so impactful.”
“In every session, I really enjoyed how we would identify the issue, discuss it, take a step back to analyse and then devise a plan / approach.”
“Through coaching, I’ve gained greater clarity around my strengths as a facilitator and communicator, particularly in leading workshops and presenting ideas with impact.”
